Kari M. Brooner is the owner and principal of KMB Design Studio, based in Mission Viejo, California. A Registered Landscape Architect in both California and Nevada, she brings over 25 years of experience as a project manager and landscape architectural designer. Kari’s career was built on a strong foundation of experience at top design firms in Southern California. Her expertise spans all phases of design, from conceptual and schematic design to construction documents and construction management. Skilled in both traditional and digital techniques, she creates detailed graphics and illustrations using hand-drawn methods, CAD, Photoshop Suite, and 3D modeling.

Kari earned her Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and further expanded her studies at the University of Massachusetts Amherst through a national program. In 2010, she founded KMB Design Studio to balance her passion for Landscape Architecture with Motherhood. Over the past 13 years, she has successfully grown her business while raising her three daughters as a single mother.

Outside of work, Kari enjoys cheering on her daughters at their sporting events, volunteering at her church and with local nonprofits, and exploring National Parks on road trips. She was recently honored with the President’s Volunteer Silver Service Award for her contributions as the Landscape Architect for the Orange County Rescue Mission. She believes deeply in the power of service, embracing the philosophy: “If you want to feel connected to your purpose, know this for certain—your purpose will only be found in service to others and in being connected to something far greater than yourself.”
